Mee's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped my company to rent spaces for our international festival, KoDaFe in NYC.

Mee's story

My name is Mee Jung, the Artistic Director of i KADA Contemporary Dance Company. I was born and raised in Seoul, Korea. Seoul is one of the places where dancers can find jobs and pursue their dreams. In following my dream of becoming a dancer, I received my Bachelor of Arts in Dance at Su-Won University. Additionally, I was awarded with many great opportunities to perform with famous dancers in Korea. During this process, in 2005, I decided to move to the United States to learn and gain experiences in my craft on a higher level. After moving to the U.S. and learning about various dance forms and techniques, I decided to launch my dance company in 2012. As the Artistic Director of this company, my vision was to provide cultural exchange through various art forms and have a platform for talented individuals to be able to represent themselves. This led to the creation of the KoDaFe in NYC International Dance Festival. Throughout the years, I was able to collaborate with well known choreographers from all over the world. For example, “Dark Circles Dance Company” came all the way from Korea to participate in our festival. Also, "Cape Ann Dance” from Massachusetts was quoted by a local newspaper saying, “We have never done something as elevated and of this caliber before.” This is the heart of KoDaFe, to bring artists together to learn, work and achieve their dreams. I was also invited to be the Judge for the Busan International Dance Festival and our company was invited to be a part of Incheon International Dance Festival, both in South Korea. In the future, I would love to give opportunities to choreographers to be able to perform all over the world using the name of the KoDaFe in NYC.
