Triunfadoras Del Pito Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy more pigs to raise, butcher and sell.

Triunfadoras Del Pito Group's story

Libny, a member of the Friendship Bridge Trust Bank “Triunfadoras del Pito” with 12 other ladies, lives in a coastal area in the department/state of Suchitepequez. As a child, Libny learned how to raise pigs from her parents. Now 20 years old, she is married and the mother of a one-year-old daughter. She is requesting her first Kiva loan to buy more pigs to raise and sell their meat.

The hardworking women in the “Triunfadoras del Pito” Trust Bank look forward to investing in their convenience stores, and animal husbandry businesses, as well as their sales of firewood, basic grains, meat and prepared foods. Kiva investors, partnering with Friendship Bridge, are of great help to them.

Understanding the tremendous importance of good hygienic practices and healthy habits is vital at this time to underserved rural populations in Guatemala. The Friendship Bridge “Microcredit Plus” program (loans, monthly educational sessions, health care services), gives over 32,000 underserved Guatemalan ladies the essential tools they need to create a brighter and healthier future. Topics for monthly educational sessions are drawn from 4 areas: health, family, women, business. Clients learn about the importance of good hygienic practices including washing hands and proper nutrition. Often they share what they learn with family members and friends. They also have access to bi-monthly medical exams from a visiting nurse.

Thank you to each of you!
