Rosario's story

Rosario, 69, is a farmer and a married man.

He started working from a very young age with the help of uncles and individuals. He grew up with his mother. He didn't have a father figure because his father started another family before Rosario was born. His mother supported him with what little she had until he was able to learn to work. He worked on a daily basis and with what he earned he was able to help his mother and save a little.

He managed to grow on his own, sharing with someone who gave him the chance to grow one manzana of beans. It went very well for him and he stored the harvest for a short time because he knew that one of his uncles was going to sell part of his hereditary rights that his grandfather had left him.

That was how he managed to buy his first plots of land. But there was a time when he needed money to buy a newly calved cow that was being offered at a price. He didn't have the cash but he didn't want to let the opportunity go by, so he decided to look for someplace to get financing for it. He looked into it and FUNDENUSE was recommended.

He has been working like this for several years. He has managed to continue to invest in his basic grains crops and in buying cows for reproducing.

He's requesting a loan with FUNDENUSE with Kiva funds to grow staple crops.

His short-term goal is to buy cattle to raise so he has more cows for milking. His plan for the future is to grow more so he can continue to help his children.
