Maram's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy cosmetics and other self-care products to sell at her business.

Maram's story

Maram is a 31-year-old Jordanian who is married and has seven children. Her husband works in the vegetable and fruit industry and his job is only active during the summer.

Having a big family with limited, low income is a very big issue that Maram has had to face. But Maram is a strong woman with the will to make things better. She started buying cosmetics and self-care products and marketing them around her area, in addition to her family and friends. Maram likes this business and her customers love working with her. They started to request more special products. This put Maram in a difficult situation, knowing that she lacks the financial ability to buy more products. So, she decided to get a loan of 800 JOD to meet her customers' requests and buy more varied cosmetics.

Maram's ultimate dream is to open a beauty salon along with a cosmetics shop.

Note: Due to the current coronavirus pandemic, staff from Kiva's Field Partner, Microfund for Women, are working from home and temporarily do not have access to their internal loan system which stores this borrower's exact repayment schedule. In order to ensure that they can still post borrowers in need to the Kiva website, this loan was posted with an approximate repayment schedule, in the form of a single bullet payment at the end of the loan. However, Microfund for Women will report and send repayments to Kiva as they are actually collected.
