A loan helped to buy pandanus (raw material) for her weaving business.

Siniteke's story

Siniteke is 46 years old. She is a mother of three children, and she is also separated. Her husband remarried, and she lives with her children at their own home.

Her eldest has already married, and Siniteke remains with the two youngest, for they are both in university. Even though her children attend university and the tuition fee is high, she is still able to pay for their school fees, for she wanted them to be educated and be able to make a living in the future.

Currently, Siniteke runs a weaving business. She weaves ta'ovala (traditional clothing item) and mats, and sells them out at the local market and also to her relatives overseas. She will use her loan money to buy pandanus (raw weaving materials) to weave more ta'ovala and mats.
