Ngeno is 37 years old and married with four children between the ages of 16 and 27 years old. Four of the children are still attending school. Ngeno is a hardworking farmer from the North Rift Valley of Kenya near Litein town. He has been in this business for fifteen years and has two employees. Ngeno sells his milk to the Kenya Cooperative Creameries. He also earns some income from a posho mill (which grinds grain into flour) and a butchery he operates in the same area. He has requested this second loan from Juhudi Kilimo for 80,000 KES to purchase a dairy cow. Ngeno's main challenges are transporting the milk to the market and the constant fluctuations in the prices of milk. He says that this loan will enable him get a good dairy cow that will produce more milk and enable him to earn more income. This income will enable him educate his children and repay the loan. In the future he hopes to acquire a large piece of land, and expand his dairy farming.
