Benon's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to pay workers who will do the weeding and mulching of his banana and coffee plantation.

Benon's story

Benon is 47 years old now. He is a father of 6 children, four of whom attend school and they live in Kamwenge, Uganda. He feels privileged to be among the lucky people to be funded and for this he thanks the previous Kiva loan which he used to pay workers to weed and mulch his maize, sugar cane and coffee plantation. He thanks Hofokam Limited Uganda for the connections with Kiva funders for the financial support.

Benon is an enterprising and hard-working man charged with responsibility of looking after the family as a head where he also adds extra responsibility of looking after one child of a brother who passed away. He is a farmer who deals in crop production alongside produce buying and selling, not forgetting his retail shop of general merchandise.

He has been able to educate his children using income generated from his enterprise businesses and this motivates him to work harder. His personal dream is to expand his business and build a better residential house for his family. Benon intends to use the loan to pay workers who will do the weeding and mulching of his banana and coffee plantation.
