Pilimilose's story

This is Pilimilose. She is a 63-year-old mother to six adults, a wife to a farmer and a grandmother to 15 grandchildren. She lives with her husband in their own home, while their children are creating their own families.

Pilimilose runs a weaving business and also operates a flea market of her own. She does her weaving on her own at home. Her weaving runs from Monday to Friday every week, and she saves Saturday for her flea market. She sells her taovala and mats to her relatives overseas. For her flea market, she sells different useful goods from her tent. She has been running these businesses for more than ten years now.

Pilimilose has applied for a loan to buy pandanus for her weaving business and also pay for freight at the wharf for her flea market items.
