A loan helped to buy vegetables.

06_Kelle Group's story

This group is made up of four women, who share strong links of solidarity and mutual aid. They live in the same village and took the opportunity to join the Banc Villageois when it was set up in the town in December 2009. Their main activity is running small trading businesses.

Rokhaya (who is standing on the far right of the photo) is the group's representative. She is 46 years old, married and mother to four children, one of whom is a girl. She has a small vegetable-selling activity, in which she has some experience, having carried it out for several years.

With this new loan she is planning on buy sacks of cabbages, carrots, cassava and egg plants in weekly markets, to resell in the market in her town. With the profits she makes, she is intending to boost her savings, build up her business, as well as to provide for her needs and cover the daily outgiongs.
