Soknang's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to cover the costs of the four-year academic program.

Soknang's story

Soknang is 25 years old and single. She lives with her parents and her siblings in a rural village of Kampong Cham province.

She recently graduated from a local high school of the province and aims to further her education at a college in Phnom Penh. She is interested in the accounting major because she realizes that it’s suitable for her personality. Her education is subsidized by her parents, who are farmers managing a few hectares of farmland for rice cultivation.

Because of the economic limits of her family, Soknang can’t afford to pay for her education fees and doesn't have enough funds to support her courses. She is seeking a loan of USD 500 to cover the costs of the four-year academic program.

With this loan support, she will have enough money to pay for her education expenses, such as education fees, books, a computer and other materials for supporting her learning.

Thanks to all the lenders around the world who contribute their funds to programs like Kiva via its partner, Hattha Kaksekar Limited (HKL), to help a poor student like her further her education.
