Princesas Del Pinal Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy boxes of chicken.

Princesas Del Pinal Group's story

Many of the 32,000 women participating in Friendship Bridge's "Microcredit Plus" loan, education and health services program have more than one business.

Teresa, a 21-year-old married woman, has two businesses. She sells chunks of chicken per pound at her local market and also delicious ice creams made from fresh fruit. Teresa wants to improve her market position and buy more chicken to satisfy customer demand. She is applying for her second Kiva loan to buy boxes of chicken. Teresa and her husband work hard to meet the basic needs of their one-year-old son.

The nine women from the Friendship Bridge Trust Bank "Princesas del Pinal" group, located in a rural area in the department / state of Quiché, wait for their monthly meetings when they meet to offer support, make loan payments and participate in educational training. Business, health, family and women's issues are relevant and can be applied immediately to women's lives. These trainings are designed by a facilitator who uses games, role plays, pictures, and diagrams to share information. Every two months, a visiting nurse provides women with health care services. (The children in the photograph are children of the borrowers.)

Kiva investors, in association with Friendship Bridge, are helping these women make positive changes in their lives. Thank you!
