Carlos's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped me to buy equipment and inventory to grow our youth soccer club programs.

Carlos's story

There are a lot of stories out there about kids who grew up poor, overcame circumstances and became sports stars. I am one of those stories. I am made not of that story but my mother's constant faith in me. I learned soccer on fields made of dirt or sometimes all rocks. We did not have a lot growing up. I grew up to play for Edcuador in the 1997/1998 World Cup. My mother recognized better opportunities for my future. Her love and encouragement in my future within the world of soccer became the cornerstone of my coaching philosophy for the hundreds of players I have coached. I have been a coach in the world of Utah soccer since 2000. I opened the Utah United Soccer Club in 2006. We now host three teams, support local employment and have placed players on the Olympic Development Teams. For all my players, I remember my mother's mission to make sure I grew up to be a kind person who supports my community and gives back. I live by that philosophy and I am working to grow Utah United into a club that supports the greater commmunity in Utah youth soccer.
