A loan helped to buy sorrel flower, baobab fruit, and sugar.

06_Magatte Asta Lompoul Group's story

This group is made up of 19 women who share strong ties of solidarity and mutual aid. They live in the same area. When the banc villageois was set up in their area in December 2012, they seized the opportunity to join. Mainly, they have jobs in small business.

Madame Ndeye (standing at the far right in the photo with her hand raised) is the representative of the group. She is 42 years old, married, and mother of eight children, of whom the two smallest boys are eight years old.

She runs a business of natural juices and ice cream. She enjoys several years of experience in this work. With this new loan, she plans to buy sorrel flower, baobab fruit, and sugar to transform them into juice, and then resell them in her neighborhood.

With the profits, she plans to strengthen her savings, and provide for the needs of herself and her children.
