Tedoungal Group's story
Aissata is the lady who is holding the goods with her hands. She is the representative of the Tedoungal Group (which means "to honor" in Wolof, the local language most spoken in Senegal). She is 46 years old, married and the mother of two children aged between 8 and 12 years old. Her spouse is a transporter and is active in public transportation. She is not educated but her children are in school. She is active in the retail trade of sugar, tea, palm oil, and other products. She also has a restaurant. She wishes to develop her activities in the long term with the support of VisionFund Senegal. Most of the time, she gets her supplies in the cities or in the local weekly market. She sells her products in the weekly markets. With this loan she will buy more tea and sugar and other goods such as vegetables for her restaurant. She aims to increase her activity in order to meet the needs of her children (education, health, food, clothing). She has been doing this activity for more than 10 years and sometimes is faced with difficulties linked to poor sales and problems with product preservation.
