Eric's story

Eric is 30 years old. In 2019 he graduated from the University of Rwanda in Social sciences. Eric worked as a Jibu franchise manager in Kabuye, Kigali for one year and a half, he helped that franchise grow its sales tremendously. He has always wanted to have his own franchise because he saw it as a business that works, so he started by opening a Micro franchise in Gicumbi, he put to practice all the skills he got from managing the franchise and increased the customer base. Jibuco is awarding him with a franchise in the same location where his Micro franchise was. He dreams to become a successful entrepreneur and be able to take care of his family financially. This loan will pay for all the items he needs to get his franchise up and running, including a storefront build-out, staff training, support overhead, and sourcing including shipping and installation of his Jibu water filtration unit. Jibu is a social enterprise that is pioneering a powerful new model that capitalizes and equips entrepreneurs in emerging market communities to own businesses that ensure access to basic human necessities, with water as an anchor product. The company’s vision is to train, finance, and grow a network of invested business owners like Eric, who will revolutionize the way critical resources are leveraged to develop essential infrastructure in emerging markets.
