Tujenge Umoja Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to get supplies of palm kernel nuts, caustic soda and oil to produce soap in order to boost her initial capital.

Tujenge Umoja Group's story

Esperance is a customer of Hekima IMF and president of the "Tujenge Umoja" solidarity group. She is 57 years old, a widow and mother to ten children, seven of whom are at school, while the other three are autonomous.

Esperance sells soaps which she produces locally, and she began this business in 2015 with funds from houses she rents out. Later on she joined the Hekima program to support her business, which she has steadily built up during this time.

With this new loan she is going to get fresh supplies: three tons of pine nut kernels, caustic soda and oil to make soaps, and this will boost her initial capital. The challenge in her activity relates to the lack of raw materials.

She would like to see her children through school and to refurbish her rental properties. Finally she would like to thank Hekima and its partners for the support they provide to business owners without funds.
