07_Mboum Group's story

This group was created by neighbors in 2015 when the 'banc villageois' got started. The group, composed of eight members, brings together the women of the village who are living together. They have a good group cohesiveness and are active in small-scale commerce.

Ms. Marame, standing at the right in the photo with a hand raised, is the group's representative. She is 37, married, and the mother of five children, including two girls. Since joining the group, she has had a small-scale business. She gets supplies from markets and is developing her business in her town.

With this loan, she is going to purchase sacks of millet and peanuts at the weekly markets to resell in town in the interim. Her customer base is made up of her neighbors. The earnings generated will be used to boost her savings and to cover her children’s school fees.
