La Felicidad Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy more inventory for her convenience store.

La Felicidad Group's story

The loan program, educational training and health care "Microcredit Plus" of Puente de Amistad offers programs and services that create opportunities for families to build sustainable futures in Guatemala. The 32,000 women who participate in the program are proud of the success they are achieving.

This is the case of Rosa, the president of the Community Bank of Friendship Bridge "La Felicidad". She is 39 and is one of these empowered women. Rosa shares: “I am a married woman. I take care of my home and, at the same time, I have the opportunity to manage a convenience store and a food sale. Part of my income goes to the educational expenses of my two children aged 7 and 17”.

Rosa's goal in the short term is to increase sales in the store. With her second Kiva loan, she will be able to achieve her goal by buying more inventory such as coffee, cereals, dairy products, grains, oil and sausages at the wholesale level.

There are 11 women who live in the department/state of Suchitepéquez and speak the Spanish language. They value business training because it helps them better manage food, clothing, snacks, corn sales and daily consumption stores. Every two months, women have access to basic health care exams and plan their family.

Kiva lenders, in partnership with Friendship Bridge, are highly valued by these women. Thank you!
