01_Lehar Group's story

This group, which includes 11 women, started from the "Banc Villageois" created locally in October 1995. They live in the same village, are related, friends or neighbors, and maintain good relationships of mutual assistance. They paid back over forty loans and their main business is trade.
Madam Maty, 62 years old, at the right of the picture with her hand raised, is the group's representative. She is married and the mother of seven adult children, including two girls.
Madam Maty has a business selling baobab fruit as well as edible roots. She buys her supplies at area markets and sells at her local market. She has several years' experience in this field.
She will buy 200 bags of baobab fruit which she will sell without issues. She is the first woman involved in this successful business.
With her profits, she increases her savings and helps her relatives when needed.
