Furahini Group's story

Justine is a client of the microfinance institution Hekima and oversees the Furahini banque villageoise. She is married, 44 years old and the mother of six children who attend school. Her husband is unemployed.

Justine sells used shoes, a business she started 20 years ago with startup funds from her husband. Later, she got involved with the Hekima program to support her business, during which time she has gradually developed. She will use this new loan to buy used shoes in bulk to sell, which will boost her initial capital. The challenges in her business are the fluctuating exchange rate and lack of merchandise.

She would like for her children to go to school and to feed her family. Finally, she wants to thank Hekima and its partners for the support they provide to unbankable business owners.

The clients prefer to be with their children in the photo.
