Courage Group's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to purchase fruit, vegetables, and bananas wholesale, which will strengthen her startup capital.

Courage Group's story

Mrs. Dorcase is a client of Hekima and leads the Courage Group at her banque villageoise. She is 38 years old, married, and the mother of four children who all attend school. Her spouse is a motorcycle policeman.

Mrs. Dorcase sells fruit and vegetables, a business she began at age 25 with startup funds she received from her parents when she was still a young girl. She later joined Hekima to sustain her business, and made progress over time. With this new loan, Mrs. Dorcase will purchase fruit, vegetables, and bananas wholesale, which will strengthen her startup capital. The challenge [she faces in] her business is tied to the poor state of the roads in agricultural deserts.

Mrs. Dorcase would like her children to go to school and to feed her family. She would like to thank Hekima and its partners for the support they provide to owners of businesses who are excluded from the traditional banking system. (Note: This group's borrowers have chosen to have their children with them in the group photo.)
