Aza's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to purchase an off-road vehicle and serve tourists in the high mountain area.

Aza's story

Aza is from Mestia, a highland town-let in northwest Georgia. She has a husband who is a private artisan and is the only breadwinner in the family. However, her husband has unstable income, depending on private orders, and the family requires an additional source of income to have financial stability and increase their monthly salary.

Aza requested a loan from Credo to start up a new type of tourism business. Her loan request was approved in the framework of a joint initiative of Kiva and Credo. The startup loan program envisages provision of business startup and re-startup credits with soft conditions to poor people. With the received credit, Aza plans to purchase an off-road vehicle and make it work as a transportation service for tourists. The number of visitors to the region increases each year, as the area is known as a sightseeing place in the country.

This new business initiative, financed with a Kiva startup loan, will significantly increase the income of the family, and Aza will be able to improve her living conditions.
