A loan helped to buy pandanus and mulberry for her business of weaving and tapa making.

Lu'isa's story

Lu'isa is a 47-year-old mother of four, and she is also a widow. They live at their own home with two other relatives.

Lu'isa runs a business of weaving and tapa (a patterned cloth made from the bark of the mulberry tree) making. She has been running these two businesses for more than 10 years now, and it is her family's primary source of income. Lu'isa joins a group of women in their village, and together they make tapa once in a week and weave the rest of the weekdays. She sells her products to some of her relatives overseas and also to local people in the village.

She is hoping to use her loan money to buy pandanus and mulberry for her businesses.
