Gwen's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to expand her business by buying more clothes to sell.

Gwen's story

Gwen is a 26-year-old entrepreneur who lives with her husband and two children in Samfya district in Zambia. She sells clothes at the market. Gwen received a Kiva loan before and repaid it; she is now requesting another loan to expand her business. With her first Kiva loan, Gwen purchased more stock to increase her sales. She used the profits she earned to grow her business. Gwen is now requesting another loan to purchase more stock. She plans to use the profits she earns to continue to expand her business and support her family.

Gwen will repay the ‘social interest’ on her second loan by volunteering three hours per week as a CAMFED Business Mentor, leading sessions to teach less experienced local women how to become successful entrepreneurs by developing their business acumen and sharing the lessons she has learned from operating her business.
