A loan helped to purchase hybrid seeds and fertilizer for the cultivation of maize.

Josephine's Group's story

Josephine, pictured above, has been a farmer for 2 years, and is now proud to represent her group of 5 farmers in Kakamega B (North) District. She is 24 years old, married and has 2 children.

Josephine likes to think of herself as a very resourceful person. She has been working alongside One Acre Fund since 2017 and decided to represent her group because she wanted to be more active in her community. She says that being part of the One Acre Fund community has meant that she has been able to save more money. Josephine plans to use the profits from this coming season to save more money for the future.

In total, Josephine’s Group will receive inputs to cultivate 3.25 acres of land. One member of the group will also be purchasing a solar light with this loan.
