01_Diakhao Souf Group's story

Established in May 2009, this group is made up of four brave women who live in the same area. They maintain good social relations of solidarity and friendship. They work primarily in commerce, and they have repaid several loans on time.

Ndiaya is the [group's] representative. She is 53 years old and is standing on the far right in the photo with her hand raised. She is married and a mother of seven children. She has two daughters, and two children are in school.

Ndiaya works selling food products. She buys at wholesale in the weekly markets in the south of the country, and resells her goods at retail in her local area. She benefits from more than 10 years of experience in this sector.

[With her loan] she is going to buy 100 kilograms of millet, 15 20-liter buckets of groundnut paste, and 15 20-liter drums of palm oil, which she will resell with a good profit margin. Her business does well, because she sells quality items.

Profits will allow Ndiaya to repair her house and save in order to increase her cash flow.
