Mary's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped a single Mom buy cereals such as lentils, cowpeas and maize to meet the demand for cereals in her area and as a determined mom, use the profits to support her children.

Mary's story

Hello, special people!

Mary (a 26-year-old single Mom of four children) feels happy to share her profile in this month of love. She is a Mother who truly adores her children, for whom she has had to go through many adversities in her life. She lives in Thika, a town where the main economic activities include agricultural processing, particularly in horticulture and pineapple. Mary grows crops and raises dairy cows on her farm. She produces dairy and crop commodities.

As a result of the fluctuation of prices for crops and the change in industrial trends, Mary has sought a way out. She has decided to start selling cereals in her local market. However, with her little savings, she is unable to purchase different varieties of cereals such as lentils, cowpeas, rice, sorghum and millet. Her family will benefit from this loan since she will elevate their standard of living. This loan is therefore an opportunity that she has never had before. Her irregular income and lack of collateral security were the main drawbacks, limiting access to a loan in commercial banks. Thanks to Juhudi Kilimo and Kiva, the lives of Mary and her family will be changed through this loan.
