Ruth's story

Ruth is 40 years old stays in Liberia. She is a married mother with 2 children; ages are 11 and 14 years. Both of her children are in school and one live at home. Ruth attended school until 11th grade. She sells soap and dry goods. She started to sell with some earnings from her husband and her mother gives her money to start the business. She sells 6 days a week and has been managing her sales for 20 years. She uses car to transport supplies to her business site. Ruth has applied for a loan with BRAC Liberia and KIVA Field Partner. The loan will be used to buy more soap and dry goods to sell to her good clients. She likes her business because it provides her daily meals and also pay her children school fees. In the future Ruth wants to open a shop and gives her children a better education. She is grateful for the financial support from BRAC and KIVA for their Support.
