El Buen Jesus Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy chickens, feed and supplies to enlarge her pens.

El Buen Jesus Group's story

The enthusiastic Treasurer, of the Friendship Bridge Trust Bank “El Buen Jesus”, is Ana. She is 32 years old, married and the mother of three children (ages 7-11). Ana raises poultry and part of her income from selling the live chickens goes to support the educational expenses of her children. She understands the tremendous value of a good education, because she was only able to attend school for two years. Ana is requesting her third Kiva loan to buy chickens, feed and supplies to expand the pens including wire, metal sheeting and nails.

There are 10 ladies in the Trust Bank located in the department/state of Suchitepequez. They attend their monthly meetings wearing their lightweight traditional colorful clothing since the climate in their area is quite warm. The women look forward to their monthly educational sessions, part of the “Microcredit Plus” program of loans, education and health care services. Topics are relevant to their lives and drawn from four areas: business, health, family, women. Every other month, they are grateful to have access to basic health care services. (The child in the picture is the son of a member of the Communal Bank).

Ana and her friends thank the Kiva investors for their kindness and generosity in funding these essential loans! They look forward to a brighter future!
