Emily

Sotik, Kericho County, Kenya / Agriculture

Emily's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy farm inputs (such as fertilizer and seeds) to enable her to grow more horticulture crops.

Emily's story

For a number of reasons, Emily (pictured above) is working very hard in life. First, she has 4 children and she is their only voice of hope. Secondly, she does not want her children to suffer.

Emily is a mixed farmer who injects passion and determination into everything that she does. Through farming, her children can learn smoothly without the fear of being sent away from school. This level of success has been fueled by, among other things, her desire to succeed, her work ethic, and her passion.

The Sotik area is a favorable area for farming, so Emily is seeking a loan to buy farm inputs (such as fertilizer and seeds) to enable her to grow more horticulture crops, reap maximum profits, and also increase her business. Being a woman and accessing funds in Kenya, especially in the Sotik area, is very challenging, but Emily feels relieved knowing that there are institutions such as Kiva that will help enterprising women.

Emily's goal is to improve her living conditions and secure the future of her children. Her biggest dreams are to be able to support her family by herself, to become independent, and to buy a home. Emily counts on your help and hopes for your attention. She promises to repay this loan just like her other previous loans.
