Susan's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped a single woman borrower with good credit to buy farm inputs to improve her productivity, leading to increased profits to support her children until they finish school.

Susan's story

Resilience is the willpower that leads Susan, a 46 year old single mom of 3, in the right path of success. She is a very hardworking mother of lovely school-going children who has always worked hard to give her family a solid reputation. She always focuses on the well-being of her children. Her dream of success keeps her heart warm.

Having understood the mechanics of farming, Susan took on mixed farming few years ago. Through farming, she has become one of the biggest success stories in her village, against all odds. Susan is the voice of hope for her children and thus she injects passion and enthusiasm in everything that she does.

Though she dearly loves crop farming, Susan's farm is at risk of attack by crop pests and diseases. To a poor rural farmer, treatment of crop diseases requires an increase in the total operational costs to the extent that, in most cases, the amount of capital invested to produce a desired yield surpasses the value of the output harvested. The remedy is to use certified seeds that are resistant to pests and diseases.

Susan is seeking this loan to purchase farm inputs such as hybrid seeds and nutrient rich fertilizers to produce a good harvest that will support her children and improve her housing conditions.

Susan is so happy that being introduced to Kiva will bring tremendous success in her life.
