but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to expand her business by buying phones, sim cards and phone credit to sell.

Sharon's story

Sharon is a 25-year-old entrepreneur who lives with her mother in Mpulungu District in Zambia. She is the Vice Chairperson of CAMA, CAMFED’s alumnae association. Sharon operates as a mobile money agent. She is requesting a Kiva loan to expand her business by buying phones, sim cards and phone credit to sell. She plans to use the profit she earns to provide for her home and support her mother’s basic needs. Sharon will repay the ‘social interest’ on her loan by volunteering three hours per week as a CAMFED Transition Guide, supporting other young women who are just entering CAMA by delivering an orientation course with weekly sessions on topics including health, financial literacy, and career guidance.
