Mujeres Emprendedoras Group's story

Silvana is married and has four adult children. She is requesting financing in order to purchase basic ingredients for her fritanga business, such as oil, rice, plantains, malangas, and cuajada [curdled cheese] at wholesale. She has worked in this field for several years, and she does it on foot on the streets of her community and on the transport routes that pass through the area.

She has the support of her children, who help her to sell on foot, and the cuajada, on an ongoing basis at her house, as the place in which it is located at her house enables good sales. She has a good demand for the products that she makes, but occasionally they can't sell, as some products become scarce, and purchasing at retail makes the basic ingredients more costly and their earnings get smaller.

She's wearing a sky blue blouse and a black skirt in the photograph.
