Jackie's story

This is 62 years old Jackie, from Liberia. She is a married mother with 6 children; one of her children is stay in school and 5 working. Jackie attended school until 11th grade. Her husband works as teacher to earn extra income. Jackie sells charcoal and bread. She learned how to sell from her mother and her husband gives her money to start the business. She has been managing her business for 23 years and considered herself as a hardworking business woman. She uses car to transport supplies to her business site. To increase her business, Jackie applied for a loan through BRAC Liberia and KIVA Field Partner to buy more charcoal and bread to sell in order to repay her loan installment and increase her income. She is proud of her business because it gives her money on a daily basis. In the future she would like to deals in an international business.
