Maria Isabel's story

Maria Isabel is a 28-year-old entrepreneur who lives in the municipality of Barranquilla. She is a courageous woman who saw a business opportunity in setting up a food stall to sell fried foods and breakfasts. With this business, she has managed to generate her own income and improve her family’s financial situation.

This small business owner makes delicious traditional fried foods from the Caribbean region, such as egg tortillas, carimañolas [fried cassava pastries], empanadas, and others. Thanks to her good cooking and excellent service, her clientele has grown. Her main customers are passersby, friends, and family members. She also supplies some stores in the area.

She is currently applying for a Kiva loan, her first loan that she is doing with Fundacion Mario Santo Domingo. She will invest the resources in the purchase of a stove, a display case, and kitchen utensils. Support her with her business loan. It will be a success.
