Ramón's story

Ramón is a 62-year-old micro entrepreneur who lives in the city of Barranquilla with his wife and two children. He started his business because he needed to generate income to support his family. He started selling fast food from his house. His business grew so much that today he sells lunches and breakfasts.

Ramón's wife his been his primary support in his work. She helps with the business allowing him to also work as a taxi driver. Ramón buys the food daily, and his wife prepares it.

He is currently applying for a Kiva loan, his first loan through the Fundación Mario Santo Domingo. He will invest the funds in purchasing a larger quantity of chairs and tables, as well as supplies such as beef, chicken, pork, fish and seafood.
