Melva's story

Melva is a 26-year-old married woman with 2 children. She runs a business selling vegetables (cabbage and cucumbers) in her community to earn a living. She has 3 years of experience with this business. Melva is a Samoan citizen who works very hard to satisfy her customers with her fresh vegetables. Every day, except for Saturday and Sunday, she delivers her vegetables to villages using a wheelbarrow. She also believes in herself and that by using a wheelbarrow to make deliveries, she is also making herself strong, happy and healthy. Melva needs a loan to purchase more equipment (a water tank, chemicals, vegetable seeds, soil, and a rake) to help take her business to the next level. Her dream is that one day she will earn enough to buy her own vehicle to help her run her business and send her children to school. She became a member of SPBD in 2016.
