Lawrencia's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to diversify her business by selling soft drinks.

Lawrencia's story

Lawrencia is a 24-year-old entrepreneur who lives with her nuclear family in the Bawku West district of Ghana. She runs a petty trading business, where she sells food ingredients such as spices, natural herbs, and whole grain rice. With her first Kiva loan, she started this business. She used the profits she earned to pay her school fees.

Lawrencia is requesting a second loan in order to add soft drinks as a second business. She plans to use the profits she earns to support her family’s basic needs. Lawrencia will repay the ‘social interest’ on her second loan by volunteering two and half hours per week as a CAMFED Business Mentor, leading sessions to teach less experienced local women how to become successful entrepreneurs by developing their business acumen and sharing the lessons she learned from operating her business.
