Leonidah's story

Hello, Kiva community!

Leonidah is a 53-year old mother of eight children living in Kakamega, a remote area located on a gentle plain before the ascent into the western province of Kenya. She has always desired to achieve and to be an independent woman. This makes her engage in risky agricultural projects in the pursuit of profits. Despite all the difficult hurdles that she has gone through in her life, Leonidah still finds the courage to move forward and meet the basic needs of her family. Leonidah manages more than an acre of farmland to take care of her family. She sells milk and vegetables to earn an income to educate her children and also take care of her family.

Although Leonidah has been earning some income from her farm, not everything has been easy for this enterprising woman. The output of produce from her farm has been reduced due to a lack of fertilizer and good seeds, as well as the presence of pests and diseases. This is why Leonidah is seeking a loan. She will buy farm inputs, such as fertilizers and seeds so that she can expand her farm. By using this loan, she will be able to expand her enterprise. Leonidah hopes you will consider her request for this loan. It will change her life and the welfare of her family.
