Everlyne's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to buy farm inputs like certified seeds and nutrient-rich fertilizers in order to help a single mom improve her farm's yield, earn more profit, and support her children.

Everlyne's story

Show your love to a single mother this month of February. Everlyne, a single mom, is very hardworking and a high-flier. She hails from a remote village in the Nandi Hills area of Kenya. She is a repeat Kiva borrower and a mother of two children who is 48-years-old. Everlyne is a mixed farmer who also owns an agro vet shop.

The biggest constraint to the success of Everlyne is the use of poor-quality fertilizers and lack of the chemical control methods of pesticides and herbicides. Juhudi Kilimo has partnered with Kiva to provide financial services to smallholders around Kenya. Through these financial services, farmers in Nandi Hills now can buy productive assets and important agricultural inputs for use on their farms.

Everlyne is seeking this loan to buy farm inputs such as seeds and fertilizer. This loan will enable her to improve her production through use of quality farm inputs. This intervention will help her fill the increasing demand for food in the market and, in the process, generate more income to repay the loan debt and elevate the quality of life for her family.
