Gilbert's Group's story

Pictured above is Gilbert, often described as an extremely hardworking individual. He is 54 years old and has six children. As the group leader, he is representing his group of 14 farmers in Teso District, Kenya.

Gilbert is again returning this season to work with One Acre Fund so that he can get the best quality fertilizer and hybrid seeds, which is why he decided to join in the first place. Gilbert says that he is happy to have made that decision because, since he first joined in 2015, he has been able to consistently feed his family, which has improved his day-to-day life significantly. Gilbert will use the profits from this season to send his children to school.

The group will use this loan to purchase seeds and fertilizer to plant a total of 6.25 acres. Two members will also each be purchasing a solar light.
