Wahyu's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to invest in a bulk purchase of fabric and batik materials, make improvements to her workshop, and acquire new equipment, including a cutting machine and a sewing machine.

Wahyu's story

Wahyu is an artisan from Indonesia who specializes in beaded batik handbags and totes. She would like to invest in a bulk purchase of fabric and batik materials, make improvements to her workshop, and acquire new equipment, including a cutting machine and a sewing machine. Wahyu has been selling through NOVICA since 2012. This is her story:

Wahyu works in Java's legendary batik art. “I'm always keen to learn new things and new techniques. My family taught me that I must work hard to succeed in life. Now I am married and we have a lovely daughter. In my small batik workshop, I specialize in handbags, cushion covers and table runners, and add details with beads,” she says.

"I would like to say thank you for this loan. With these funds I will increase my capacity and create new designs, which will hopefully increase my sales."
