Elizabeth's Group's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to buy cost efficient maize seeds and fertilizers for the upcoming harvesting season.

Elizabeth's Group's story

Elizabeth is a group leader and she is representing her group formed by seven farmers of the Lugari district of Kenya. She is the mother of eight children and is known by her community as a very experienced farmer.

Elizabeth joined One Acre Fund in 2014 because she wanted to have access to quality training and acquire new farming methods. Since she has joined the program, Elizabeth says that her life has improved, especially because she has been able to consistently feed her family. With the expected profit from the upcoming harvesting season, Elizabeth plans to buy more land to cultivate.

Among the group members, a total of 5.75 acres of land will be planted using the maize seeds and fertilizers received with the loan. Additionally, some of the farmers in the group will be purchasing solar lights with the loan, so the group will also receive four solar lights.
