Angel's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy more shoes to sell.

Angel's story

Angel is 17 years old and lives in the town of Mubende in the Kisekende region of Uganda. For the past 2 years, Angel has been working hard to manage her retail, which sells shoes.

To help expand her business, Angel has requested a loan of 1,400,000 UGX from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy more shoes to sell, and will help Angel to generate greater profits. Angel will be able realise more profits and therefore, she will be able to cater for her home's needs. Hence improving on her standard of living. Angel hopes that in the future she will be able to buy a car.

Angel is a member of BRAC's Empowerment and Livelihood for Adolescents (ELA) program. In addition to microfinance loans, the program provides both a safe place for young Ugandan women to take part in group activities, and a forum for life-skills training.
