Consolata's Group's story

Pictured above is Consolata, who is representing her group formed by 12 farmers in Teso District, Kenya as a group leader. She is a mother of 5 children and is known by her community as a very reliable person.

Initially, Consolata joined One Acre Fund in 2014 because she wanted to earn enough to feed her family. She says that since she joined the program her life has improved, especially because she has been able to consistently feed her family.

With the profits from the coming harvesting season, Consolata plans to send her children to school.

Among the 12 farmers in Consolata's Group, a total of 6 acres of land will be planted using the maize seeds and fertilizer received with the loan. Additionally, a farmer in the group will be purchasing a solar light so, with this loan, the group will also receive 1 solar light.
