02_Médina Chérif Zone Lycée Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy condiments and raw ingredients for making breakfast and evening meals to sell.

02_Médina Chérif Zone Lycée Group's story

This group was created in July 2012, and it is composed of dynamic women, who share unified, neighborly bonds. The group members work selling breakfasts and evening meals (breads, sauce, black-eyed peas, peas, mayonnaise, eggs, potato sauce, café au lait).

Standing in the photo with her hand raised is Fatoumata, who is the group's representative. She is 43 years old, married, and a mother of two children, including an 18-year-old daughter.

With her loan, Fatoumata bought potatoes, oil, condiments, bread, black-eyed peas, mayonnaise, peas, eggs, coffee, milk, and sugar to make the dishes she sells. She restocks from the local market from wholesalers and makes her sales at retail in her area. She has loyal customers who are students who attend school, taxi drivers, and the local population. She benefits from many years of experience with this work.

With her profits, Fatoumata is going to strengthen her savings, pay the interest on her loan, and support her personal needs as well as those of her family related to food, health, clothing, as well as daughter's education.
