A loan helped to purchase supplies for growing corn.

Gerson Geovany's story

Gerson lives in the city of San Francisco de Yojoa, with his wife and two children.

He works growing improved corn. He has 8 "manzanas" [approx. 14 acres]. He also has a tortilla sales business that generates good profits.

He requests the loan to pay laborers to plant, prepare the land, etc., and to buy compost and insecticides for his 8 "manzanas". The cost of this work is high, and he needs the capital to be able to give adequate care and to obtain a good harvest.

He hopes that the loan will help him, because he does not have the necessary funds to pay laborers. He has done this work for many years, providing for his family and always having excellent production. In the future, he wishes to be able to use equipment to improve his land, such as mechanical irrigation to better prepare the land, to improve his cultivation and generate good returns.
