Melvin Edison's story

Melvin is a young man who is very hard-working. He is 23 years old and works cultivating cassava and peanuts. This is a business that he learned from his father, who put him to work from the time he was very young. Later, his parents left him the inheritance of the family business, and since then, which was 7 years ago, he has been running it. His father helps him with the business.

Melvin is requesting a Kiva loan, with MiCredito, to invest in the purchase of organic soil amendments, insecticides, and fertilizers in order to prepare five manzanas [one manzana is about 1.75 acres] for the cultivation of cassava.

In the future, Melvin plans to have more parcels of land for his crops and in this way increase his business and his earnings in order to improve his family's quality of life.
