A loan helped to buy fingerlings for fish raising.

An's Group's story

An, 35, is a Thai ethnic woman who is married and lives with her husband, a daughter in 10th grade, a son in 5th grade and a newborn baby in a Thai stilt house in a remote area where people mostly earn a living through agricultural production. An has bright smile and stands first from the right with a hat in the picture.

Like other villagers, An grow rice, raises fish, pigs, chicken and duck to cover living expenses. Because An's children are school aged, there are a lot of expensive expenses incurred. To get more income for her family, An took a loan from the Anh Chi Em program to invest in buying fingerlings for fish raising. An shared that raising fish does not take much time, unlike other animals, and she can take advantage of the available food source in that village, which is grass.

An hopes that with the support from the program, the fingerlings will grow up fast and healthy, bringing her income to cover family expenses, especially her children's education.
