La Bendicion San Julian Group's story

For a single mother, it requires great effort and motivation to get ahead. However, 40 year-old Ana, who is divorced, feels that personal factors are not an impediment for a woman to achieve success. She has studied up to ninth grade.

Ana is the president of the Community Bank of Friendship Bridge, "The Blessing San Julian" group. She runs a stable business selling daily household consumer products. It has helped her get ahead in life and look after the need of her children. In order to support her business, Ana is requesting the 6th loan from Kiva. She plans to purchase grains and drinks.

Ana and six other women have applied for the loan to stock their inventory for the businesses selling corn tortillas, snacks, frozen fruit with chocolate, and other food products. They are eager to learn about good business management tools, healthy habits, nutrition, and hygiene.

The group members have developed self-esteem and feel empowered. Every two months, they receive basic health examination that includes Pap test and blood pressure check up. The group members are grateful to Kiva lenders for helping them improve their life!
